4th ABM European Regional Meeting for Physicians

The Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (ABM) is a worldwide organization of physicians dedicated tot the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding and human lactation through education, research and advocacy. ABM's mission is to unite members of various medical specialties through physician education, expansion of knowledge in breastfeeeding and human lactation science, facilitation of optimal breastfeeding practices and encouragement of the exchange of information among organizations.
In addition to the annual International Meetings in the USA, bi-annual meetings are organized in Europe. In 2012 ABM is cooperating with the Institute for Maternal and Child Health “IRCCS Burlo Garofolo” in Trieste, Italy to host the 4th ABM European Regional Meeting for physicians on breastfeeding topics. The main tasks of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Maternal and Child Health at this Institute is improving health conditions for women and children. The research activities are focused on the development and assessment of appropriate technologies and interventions related to WHO programs and initiatives on maternal and child health. The Centre gives support to the introduction and implementation, including evaluation, of these WHO programs and initiatives.
Trieste's interesting history and geographic position between east and west Europe makes it a city certainly worthy of a visit. And interesting Italian and slovanian cities like Verona, Venice and Ljubljana are also close by.
All participants at the 4th ABM European Regional Meeting are invited to present their research or experience (abstract or poster). Please submit your application by February 29, 2012 at the latest to elienrouw@abm-trieste.org
